• NEW!! I will be joining the ECE department at Virginia Tech as an Assistant Professor starting January 2013.
• I am serving as an Area Chair for the International Conference on Pattern Recognition (ICPR) 2012.
• Our work on Relative Attributes won the Marr Prize at ICCV 2011.
• The National Science Foundation (NSF) funded our work on human-debugging.
• I organized a workshop on Advancing Computer Vision with Humans in the Loop (ACVHL) in conjunction with CVPR 2010, with Andrew Gallagher and Tsuhan Chen.

About me

I am a Research Assistant Professor at Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago (TTIC), a philanthropically endowed computer science academic institute on the University of Chicago campus. I received my Ph.D. and MS. from Carnegie Mellon University in 2009 and 2007 respectively. My advisor was Prof. Tsuhan Chen (now at Cornell University). I got my BS, also in ECE, at Rowan University in 2005, where I worked with Dr. Robi Polikar on several pattern recognition problems.
