  • Person re-identification using multi-view pictorial structures (ongoing)

    Cooperate with Yanna Zhao.
    Base on two papers:
    <Pictorial Structures Revisited People Detection and Articulated Pose Estimation >
    and <Custom Pictorial Structures for Re-identification>.
    Trying to use DPM to improve the appearance model, and use multi-view pictorial structures to deal with the problem of self-occlusion and improve the detection accuracy.

  • 3D Monocular Human Upper Body Pose Estimation (Samsung Corp. Cooperate)

    Team member
    • Using pictorial structure to estimate 2-D pose, and using the 2-D pose to reconstruct the 3-D pose.

  • Fastfood Service Timer

    Team member Using computer vision methods to time how long every customer spend on waiting for the food (i.e. from paying the money to getting the food).
    • Using CPU and GPU parallel methods to accelerate the speed of existed upperbody detection model: 2x speed up on normal laptop.
    • Apply existing re-id algorithm to re-identify two same customers in different time and position, and evaluate the algorithm on our fast food restaurant dataset.
    • Construct a customer database recording the model and information of each person, and using the upperbody detector and re-id algorithm to update the database.
