ResearchMy research interests are in artificial intelligence and machine learning --- including probabilistic inference, reinforcement learning, and computational learning theory --- and their connections to economics and and finance. My work as a postdoc has focused on computational and learning issues in game theoretic, economic and financial settings. As a graduate student, I focused on reinforcement learning in both artificial and biological systems. My thesis was on sample complexity issues in reinforcement learning. BioI recently completed a postdoc in the Computer and Information Science department at the University of Pennsylvania under the supervision of Michael Kearns. I completed my PhD at the Gatsby Unit where my advisor was Peter Dayan. Before Gatsby, I was an undergraduate at Caltech where I did my BS in physics.
